It's been a big weekend, starting with Nate's first airplane ride on Friday. We were a little nervous about how he'd handle the flight to Tampa, but he did great. Turns out that everything on a Southwest airplane tastes amazing because he had to put everything in his mouth -- no germs on that seatbelt, armrest or tray table! He really enjoyed looking out the window and turning around to flirt with the women behind us. What a player. To the right is a picture of the crew, included a pilot who strangely resembles Steve Carrell. They signed a certificate for him and gave him wings.
After that we took Nate to meet his great grandmother Nani for the first time. Nani's eyes lit up when she met Nate and she enjoyed watching him crawl and stand up. It was a meaningful meeting, especially in light of Nani's recent challenges. We took her on a walk down the hall and ran into a group of other residents who were enjoying a story being read to them. They all got so excited when they saw Nate, and he made several new friends with some "senior" friends.
Today was Megan's shower hosted by Lora, who lived next to us on Southridge Drive. Lora's house was amazing and she did a wonderful job throwing a great shower. It was fun to visit with so many good friends and relatives -- Megan's friend Jennifer came and they hadn't seen each other in ten years (now THAT's a good friend!). I'll post more pictures soon -- Typepad is being a bit funky tonight.
